Tippy Elgar

Tippy Elgar is an actor, director, filmmaker & practitioner based in Essex & London. She is also a hard working ‘mum on the edge’ to two energetic boys. 

Her family's heritage is a clash of East End working class & music royalty. She is proud to be related to the late British composer Sir Edward Elgar. 

Tippy is the executive director of Open Page Productions who are a versatile theatre and film production company who believe passionately in bringing stories to life and making them available to everyone. 

Recently she became an award-winning filmmaker, giving her an important insight into the whirlwind process of creating film. Last year she directed a new play called THE A WORD about domestic abuse in the LGBTQ+ community, in collaboration with Safe Lives.
